themakeupshop. was created in 2004 by Kirsty Birnstiel. For ten years Kirsty has worked in the TV and Film industry in the UK and has made up numerous celebrities from the stage, screen and political arenas. Initially the shop was started online only and catered mostly to TV productions and to fellow make-up artists in Europe.
Now you can buy what the stars use in Chiswick. themakeupshop. stocks ranges including the British based Cosmetics a la Carte – the hand blended made to measure range (who incidentally can also match discontinued lipsticks), Make Up Designory, Bare Escentials mineral make-up, cool New York brand Malin & Goetz (excellent for those with skin conditions) and gift items including Stephanie Johnson.
“I’ve chosen quality products that I rate as a make up artist,” says Kirsty “And also ranges that are not easily available elsewhere. I also intend to change the brands I offer and introduce new ones to keep us up to the minute.”
As well as selling cosmetics, themakeupshop. also offers an extensive range of services from experienced make-up artists who have worked in TV and Film giving customers the advantage of learning all the tricks of the trade and avoid the ‘cosmetic counter’ look.
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 09:30 to 5:30; Sunday 12:00 to 4:00
Make-up bookings can also be made outside of opening hours.
